Lamari

Aghios Martinos

Situated on the North-West side of Pantokrator, Lamari is a contemporary hillside garden with views to the mountains of Albania and sunset.

The position is quite exposed to winter winds, so we use the slopes to the side and behind the house to grow citrus bougainvillea and a thriving, totally organic vegetable garden. The house is a renovated olive press which is surrounded by a large grey Kavala paved terrace with low peach coloured walls over which star jasmine, dipladenia, rosemary and campsis grow.

Amongst other plants, echium, lavender, euphorbia, perovskia, angelika, pittosporum and berbers fill the beds with phormium interspersed. It’s a 17 year old garden and the cypress trees now 6+ meters have finally made a deep enough purchase through the subterranean rock that they no longer need securing by rope to nearby olive trees.

PARKING: Parking is available in the carpark. If you don’t mind a short walk uphill, then please park along the road at the bottom of the hill.
