The Liapades School Garden has been developed within the school grounds, transforming an area of unused wasteland into a beautiful community garden that hosts:
a herb garden,
a vegetable garden,
an orchard,
ornamental garden beds, and
a parkland area for relaxation.
The creation of the garden was the idea of school principal Konstantinos Kotsalis, to provide a garden area for the whole community to use. The garden has been developed by the teachers, students, parents and volunteers and it uses recycled materials wherever possible.
The garden will officially open at 18:00 on Thursday 25th April. The Liapades Philharmonic Band will provide music at the opening of the garden. Refreshments will be available and car parking provided.
The volunteers from the Liapades Recycling Centre will host a bazaar of brand new summer clothing and accessories at the opening of the garden. All proceeds raised will be given to good causes and reinvested in the garden.
