Participants will get a view into the world of glass art and the concept of creating glass objects by using the warm glass method, which is fusing glass in a kiln. We will look into various kinds of glass, tools, warm and cold processing techniques, design and chromatics. You will receive an introductory manual to take home.
You will learn how to design a class object by using various design elements and how to cut the glass according to your design and layer glass in the kiln. We will be using hand made fusing glass, which is made in Portland/Oregon. Your project will be a larger glass object (suncatcher) to hang in the garden or window. If time allows you can also create 1 or 2 glass jewellery pieces.
The firing of the glass takes about 24 hours, so you have to come back another time to pick up your items. I will inform you once its ready to be picked up.
