Built on an open hilltop site, the architecture of the striking contemporary house is centred on a planted courtyard with lemon tree, achieves a seamless transition between sheltered and open indoor and outdoor spaces. Colours within both house and garden are carefully chosen, providing echoes and complementarities from inside to out, and back.

On the exposed hillside the low bushy planting features artemisia, scented pelargonium, rosemary and lavender. Gaura, perovskia and iris are also grown and in a nod to Greek tradition ornamental plants are combined with highly decorative vegetables and herbs; Bronze and green fennels, dill, artichokes, sages, thymes, oregano and white aubergines. Drifts of flowering annuals spring from wild seeds.

DIRECTIONS: Coming north from Corfu Town on the coast road pass though Sinies and the first outskirts of Kassiopi.
Watch for Nikos supermarket on the right. After Nikos take the first road left marked (Kelia, Aghios Giorgos etc)

At the first fork that has signs - go left (marked Katounes, Karatousi, Santa )
Follow sign all the way to the Lemon Tree House.

Parking is limited, there is another small carpark just before the house.
